Stages of restoring the gait function :

First stage – The patient is very weak. Unable to stand or sit on his own, he is lying on the bed.

The patient can do the following exercises:

  • Getting up and sitting down with the help of a tutor.
  • Improving the mobility of ankle, knee and hip joints – with the help of a caregiver.

 The standing frame is equipped as shown in the photo on the right.

Second stage – The patient is able to sit up in bed.

The patient can do the following exercises:

  • Moving from the bed to the standing frame seat and back from the standing frame to the bed with the help of a tutor.
  • Stand up and sit down on your own.
  • Improving the mobility of ankle, knee and hip joints – alone.

The standing frame is equipped as shown in the picture (Reha Gym installed)

Stage three – The patient is able to stand (supported) on his legs.

Performed exercises:

  • Transferring from the bed to the standing frame seat and back from the standing frame to the bed – with the help of the tutor.
  • Stand up and sit down on your own.
  • Improving the mobility of ankle, knee and hip joints – alone.

The standing frame is equipped as shown in the picture (feet platforms removed, feet separator on)

Stage four – The patient is able to stand (supported) on his legs and take small steps.

Performed exercises:

  • Transferring from the bed to the standing frame seat and back from the standing frame to the bed – with the help of the tutor.
  • Stand up and sit down on your own.
  • Improving the mobility of ankle, knee and hip joints – alone.
  • Taking small steps independently.

The standing frame is equipped as shown in the photo: (the stop platforms are removed, the foot separator is on, the knee supports are moved to the front position)

Stage five – The patient is able to stand (supported) on his legs and take medium-sized steps.

Performed exercises:

  • Transfer from the bed to the standing frame seat and back from the standing frame to the bed – with the help of the tutor.
  • Stand up and sit down on your own.
  • Improving the mobility of ankle, knee and hip joints – alone.
  • Taking average steps independently.

The standing frame is equipped as shown in the photo (the stop platforms are removed, the foot separator in place, the knee supports are removed).

The sixth stage – The patient is able to stand on his feet and take small steps at the walking frame.
